Wente Vineyards California Wine Dinner

Wente Vineyards is the oldest continuously operated, family-owned winery in the country. The wines are 100% estate grown and sustainably farmed in the Livermore Valley, San Francisco Bay and Arroyo Seco, Monterey appellations. The winery is owned and managed by the fourth and fifth generations of the Wente family, who is recognized for their influence in making Chardonnay the best-selling varietal in the country, based on numerous accomplishments over the past 130 years. The development of the Wente clone spread to thousands of vineyards across California and the winery was the first to introduce a varietally-labeled California Chardonnay. The Wente family is proud to be recognized as “California’s First Family of Chardonnay.”

1st Course Mussels with White Beans and Chorizo Wine-Morning Fog Chardonnay, Livermore Valley “Our 2018 Morning Fog Chardonnay bursts with aromatics from citrus, lemon curd, pear and toasty oak. This wine is balanced by hints of vanilla and citrus on the palate, finishing with a nice acidity.”

2nd Course Three-Cheese Baked Pasta with Porcini and Radicchio Wine-Sandstone Merlot, Livermore Valley “Our 2018 Sandstone Merlot has inviting notes of ripe fig and pomegranate, with a hint of sandalwood. This delicious Merlot bursts with berry flavors from cranberry, grilled cherry and acai, finishing with a nice lingering acidity.”

Entrée Seared Steak with Bleu Cheese Butter Smashed Potatoes Wine-Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon, Livermore Valley “Our 2018 Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon welcomes you with aromatics of warm baking spices. On the palate this wine delivers ripe blackberry and fig with round, smooth tannins.”
