Wines of Spain Wine Dinner at Biga
1st Course
Spaghetti with Spicy Shrimp with Pil Pil Sauce
Wine-Biutiful Cava Brut Rose NV, Catalonia
“Dark garnet to the eye, this wine has a nose of brambly fruits of the wood with a hint of summer farm stand. It is savory on the palate, with notes of dried Mediterranean herbs, coffee bean, roasted yellow pepper that are backed by flavors of pomegranate and cherry. Slightly grippy tannins make for a pleasantly chewy finish.”
2nd Course
Chicken Empanada
Romesco Sauce
Wine-Legado des Moncayo Garnacha “Montana”, Campo de Borja
“Showing off its dark core, this delivers good depth and concentration with smoked meats, kumquat rind and dense red fruits with salty minerals and brilliant tension on the palate. A killer buy at under 20 dollars USD, enjoy now and over the next few years.”
Entrée
Chorizo Paella
Wine-Finca la Mata Tempranillo, Ribera del Duero
“Packed tight with power and minty, earthy berry aromas that come with a dry dustiness. Feels ripe and proper, with a slight tannic grab and full but fresh flavors of wild berry, cassis, cocoa and oak. On the finish, chocolate and dry spice flavors take over, yielding a pleasant, complete whole.”
Dessert
Crèma Catalana

BloodRoot Wine Dinner at Biga
1st Course
Shrimp Scampi Bruschetta
Wine-BloodRoot Chardonnay, Sonoma County
“Chardonnay gets a bad rap but when done well it maintains its status as one of the best white wines of the world. Here we start with prime cool climate fruit, preserve its energy through cool fermentation and use of mostly stainless steel and neutral oak. Finally, we give it that final kiss of plushness with a judicious use of new French oak barrels.”
2nd Course
Veal and Mushroom Pasta with Tomato Cream
Wine-BloodRoot Coastal Pinot Noir, California
" The 2023 Coastal California Pinot Noir is an elegant wine that wouldn’t be out of place with bottles costing twice as much. Up and down the dramatic coastline of the Pacific Ocean provides a regular cooling effect for Pinot Noir, allowing it to extend ripening and develop the grape variety’s singular charms.”
Entrée
Grilled Chicken in Adobo Sauce
Black Beans
Wine-BloodRoot Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma
" It possesses notes of blueberry, cassis, and coffee combined with more plant-based notes of sage and lavender. On the palate it has dark berry, plum, and cherry cola notes.”
Dessert
Mixed Berry Crumble
Whipped Cream

Thirst For A Cause
Note: This event is in OKC, but a most-worthy cause from our Thirsty friends.
2025 marks the fifteenth year for the event and promises another incredible lineup—with the notable return of several prominent Napa Valley wineries! This year, 30+ wineries and distilleries will be represented, pouring over 250 outstanding wines & spirits. As always, ten of Oklahoma City's best independent restaurants will be on hand to serve along with wine & spirits.
Many silent auction items and rare bottles will also be available for bidding. Through these auction donations and ticket sales, the event has raised more than $300,000 for Oklahoma restaurant & club employees.

French Wine Dinner at Biga
1st Course
Warm Calamari Salad with Spinach, Sausage and Black Olives
Wine- Michel Vattan Sancerre, Loire Valley France
“Color: pale gold with silver highlights. A feline, grassy, gooseberry nose with a soft, open palate. Slightly bitter on the finish but there is a nice weight and concentration here and textured fruit to drive the palate. This is energetic with good potential to improve in bottle.”
2nd Course
Pappardelle with Wild Mushrooms, Shell Beans and Parmesan
Wine- Vignerons Des Monts De Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy France
" Purple color with deeper glints. A bouquet of small red fruits (cherry, redcurrant) and black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant). Lively and crunchy in the mouth. A vinous and appealing wine. Enjoy with vegetable salads, meat or poultry, simmered beef and vegetables, even fish. "
Entrée
Cured Pork Loin with Sweet Potatoes, Bacon and Gribiche
Wine- Cru Monplaisir Bordeaux Superieur, Bordeaux France
75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc
" Crafted with polished style, offers classic Bordeaux aromatics of plums, figs, graphite, black currant and a touch of oak. Cabernet adds structure and firmness to otherwise silky tannins, finishes moderately long and leafy fresh. Pair with a rosemary and thyme braised lamb shoulder or short rib burgers topped in Gruyere.
Dessert
Caramel Nut Tart with Milk Chocolate and Cognac Whipped Cream
$50 per person
