Mahi-Mahi with Green Gazpacho Sauce

“Dark garnet to the eye, this wine has a nose of brambly fruits of the wood with a hint of summer farm stand. It is savory on the palate, with notes of dried Mediterranean herbs, coffee bean, roasted yellow pepper that are backed by flavors of pomegranate and cherry. Slightly grippy tannins make for a pleasantly chewy finish.”

2nd Course

Cannelloni-Barcelona Style

Wine-Acentor Garnacha, Northern Spain

This elegant wine is brilliant ruby to the eye, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits, especially red currant and cassis. It has secondary aromas of tobacco, cedar and pencil shavings in the complex bouquet. The tannins are rounded, generous and very silky. It is juicy and full-bodied in the mouth with flavors of ripe red cherry, black raspberry and cassis.

“This Spanish Reserva comes in at 13.5 percent alcohol and delivers a fine nose of cassis, black cherries, brown spices, cigar ash, dark soil nuances, a touch of dried eucalyptus and a deft foundation of cedary oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and seamlessly balanced, with a good core and soil signature, suave tannins and a long, complex finish. This is remarkably good wine for its price tag,”
