On Thursday, June 6th Tulsa Hills Wine Cellar will be hosting a wine tasting featuring three different wines from Rioja Spain plus a delicious Brut.
We are excited to share these special wines with you!
Alegre Valgañón Rioja- A blend of Tempranillo from the Obarenes Mountains (Sajazarra and Fonzaleche) with 20% Garnacha from Cárdenas on clay and some 5% white that has 14.2% alcohol but feels perfectly balanced and integrated. It has a serious, harmonious nose with complexity and depth but also youth.
Señorío de P. Peciña- It has been resting for 36 months in used American oak barrels. In this time, we have done six rackings (once every 6 months) by means of the traditional method, “barrel to barrel”, achieving a natural decantation. After being in bottle for a minimum of 18 months, the wine finds its balance and it is ready for consumption.
The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Remelluri Reserva- The original wine from Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri, sourced from the most important vineyards consisting of 153 plots in 25 sites at the contiguous property. Only indigenous varieties are used, planted from 1918 until today, averaging 40 years old. The blend consists primarily of goblet-trained tempranillo, garnacha, and graciano varieties with an average yield of 29hl/ha. Only grapes from the estate are used for Remelluri Reserva.
Avinyó Reserva Brut- The wine is made from 60% macabeo, 25% xarel⋅lo, and 15% parellada from organically-farmed estate vines planted from 1945 to 2017 at Can Fontanals from 250m to 275m elevation.
